The Network Research Team (http://lsiit.u-strasbg.fr/rp-en/), part of 
the LSIIT (http://lsiit.u-strasbg.fr) offers 1 PhD fellowship. The 
position concerns the Internet of Things for studying animal behaviors. 
The PhD student will participate to the emerging collaboration between 
biologist/ethologist researchers and computer scientists to design and 
deploy smart bio-loggers.

If you join our team, you will:
• join a 3 year PhD program;
• study in a dynamic and highly innovative environment in the LSIIT (the 
French language is a plus but not a requirement);
• benefit from strong collaboration with our industrial and academic 
partners in France and Europe;
• obtain a fellowship starting from € 21,000 gross per year.

We encourage all highly motivated and excellent candidates to apply for

The PhD student will focus in particular on the following challenges:
• MAC and IP layers;
• End-to-End reliability;
• self-configuration and self-adaptation in the whole networking stack.

Applicants must have a Master degree in Computer Science or other 
relevant field. Good programming skills are required. The following 
field are particularly accurate:
• Wireless Networking;
• Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks (IEEE 802.15.4, RPL, LoadNG);
• Distributed algorithms;
• Simulations (wsnet, ns2);
• Experiments (mica2, telosb, etc).
