It is a computing paradigm, where hardware and network are abstracted from the users, who no longer have need for, expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure “in the cloud” that supports them. Cloud computing describes a new supplement, consumption, and delivery model based on the Internet, where shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand, like electricity grids. It has even been said that cloud computing may have a greater effect on our lives than the PC and dot-com revolutions combined, due to the scalability, reliability, and cost benefits this technology can provide. Digital media, which widely covers a large number of topics that includes entertainment, gaming, digital content, streaming, and authoring. Encompassed with the advancements of microprocessor and networking technologies, Digital Media is considered a niche in market as "the creative convergence of digital arts, science, technology and business for human expression, communication, social interaction and education". This book seeks applications of Digital Media in Cloud Computing from three levels: infrastructure where fundamental technologies need to be developed, middleware where the integration of technologies and software systems need to be defined, and applications cases in real world. In addition, this book will point out new research issues for the Digital Media and Cloud communities. A proposal, of 2-5 pages, for a book chapter is needed from prospective authors before the due date, describing the goals and scopes of the proposed chapter. Acceptance of book chapter proposals will be communicated to leading authors after a formal double-blind review process. The preparation of manuscripts submitted for the book must be original and not previously published elsewhere or currently under review. Expected chapter length is between 10,000 to 12,500 words. The formatting of manuscripts should follow: A4 page format, single column with 11 point Times New Roman font with 1.5 line spacing, while submitting your manuscript as Microsoft Office Word document. Use the number referencing style as usually used for regular research papers, NOT APA style. Full book chapters should be sent to the Editor by the required date in the production schedule.
