Dear Colleague, Eighth International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing (ISSNIP) will be held during 2-5 April 2013 in The Langham, Melbourne. The conference will focus on both theory and applications of intelligent sensors and smart systems. The conference will be held under three main tracks - Smart Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information processing in Sensor Networks. In addition to the usual technical sessions, there will be several tutorial and special sessions and workshops concentrating on specific areas of sensor research. The conference will be jointly organised by IEEE Sensors Council (pending confirmation) and ARC Research Network on Sensor Networks (www.issnip.unimelb.edu.au. For more information, please visit www.issnip.org/2013 which will be updated frequently as the sessions become finalised. ISSNIP 2013 invites original contributions on all topics related to sensors and sensor networks. All accepted papers will be made available on IEEE Xplore. The conference program will consist of keynote addresses, invited talks, oral and poster presentations and commercial exhibitions. Topics include but are not limited to: Smart Sensors: - Phenomena, Modelling, and Evaluation - Chemical and Gas Sensors - Biosensors - Optical Sensors - Mechanical and Physical Sensors - Other Sensor Topics including Materials and Processes Sensor Networks and Information Processing: - Middleware for Sensor Systems - Adaptive Sensing, Control and Optimisation in Sensor Networks - Internet of Things - Participatory Sensing - Information Driven Spatial Representations - Personal and wearable networks - Sensor and RFID networks - Wireless, mobile and ad hoc networks - Optical networks - Vehicular and underwater networks - Network coding - Ubiquitous networking - Authentication, authorisation, accounting - Cross-layer optimisation - Mobility and Location-dependent services - Multimedia and real-time communication - Network reliability and Quality-of-Service - Security and privacy - Traffic characterisation and measurements - Performance evaluation/engineering - Data mining and machine intelligence - Cloud computing solutions for ubiquitous sensing - Applications such as Structural Health Monitoring, Healthcare, Defence, Environment - Testbeds for experiments and simulations The submitted paper must be camera-ready and in IEEE format (templates will be made available on conference web), not exceeding 6 pages. Papers must be based on unpublished original work and must be submitted to ISSNIP only. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. PDF version of the articles must be submitted electronically through EDAS Paper Submission System (http://edas.info/13215). Please feel free to disseminate this around your department, institution or to your other colleagues Pending confirmation, 2013 ISSNIP will be 2013 IEEE ISSNIP.
