*Post Doctoral Position for State Estimation and Optimal Recovery in Networks with Massive **Failures ***
** Penn State University Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a two year Post Doctoral position available to accelerate research aims of a DTRA funded research project related to predicting the propagation and recovering from network faults caused by massive outages.Familiarity with large scale networks, fault isolation algorithms, and causality models are required, and experience with network optimizations and network management is highly valuable. The candidate will perform advanced research in the general area of network management as applied to large scale networks. The candidate will work on algorithms to predict the spread of a network failure using causality methods and inferencing techniques. The candidate will perform original research as part of a research team and will tailor research efforts to the needs of the supporting groups from industry and/or government. The Post Doc will be required to travel, will be based at Penn State, and will periodically spend significant time (2 weeks -- 2 months) at the U.S. Army Research Lab//in Adelphi, MD.//U.S.citizenship is preferred.Applications must be received by October 1, 2012, but candidates are encouraged to apply quickly as the position will be filled once a qualified candidate is found. *//* */Please send application letter, CV and three reference letters sent to /**/[email protected]/* Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workforce. _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
