Please note that the paper submission deadline for COMSNETS 2013 E6 workshop is extended to *Oct 14th, 2012*
COMSNETS 2013 E6 WORKSHOP: CALL FOR PAPERS Due to rising energy costs and environmental concerns, energy has become one of the important concerns for the communities, governments and industries. The E6 (Energy in Communication, Information, and Cyber-physical Systems, http://www.comsnets.org/e6.html) workshop at COMSNETS 2013 focuses on all aspects (energy conservation, energy efficiency, alternative energy sources) related to energy consumption in communication and computing systems, and, as well as associated cyber-physical systems. Within this scope, the E6 workshop seeks original paper submissions on architectures, protocols, applications, services, systems, models, theoretical analysis, simulations, real-system experiments, measurements, and usage studies in such areas as: ● Smart grids, Electricity networks, including electricity generation, transmission, distribution, control, consumption, and metering; Renewable energy sources ● Demand response, demand side management, energy storage management, peak load shifting ● Electric vehicles, vehicle to grid, distributed energy sources, microgrids ● Building automation, including homes and commercial buildings, lighting, heating, air conditioning, and other appliance control ● Communication networks, including machine-to-machine communications, network virtualization, routing, transmission control, channel access, wireless and optical communication media ● End systems, including mobile phones, radio-frequency identification devices, robots, and other sensors and actuators ● Data centers, including cloud computing ● Transportation networks, including vehicles, infrastructure, operation, congestion, navigation, and safety ● Economic and social factors, including financial rewards, social pressure, curiosity and other natural incentives The E6 workshop solicits paper submissions of up to 6 pages in length, including all figures, tables, and references. All papers must be electronically submitted via the E6 submission site http://comsnets13.cs.umass.edu/e6/ in PDF. The proceedings will be published by IEEE Xplore and will include the final papers of up to 6 pages in length. All E6 technical papers must be associated with an author registration at the full rate. For authors presenting multiple papers, one full registration is valid for up to three papers. IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the workshop (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the workshop. Each paper acceptance is subject to the conditions that the paper does not contain any plagiarized material and that the authors do not submit the paper material in parallel to another publication venue. Violations of these conditions will most likely result in rejections of the violating submissions or even already accepted papers. IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submission: Oct. 14th, 2012 (at 11:30 pm IST) EXTENDED Notification of acceptance: November 14, 2012 Camera-ready submission: November 30, 2012 Workshop date: January 7, 2013 TECHNICAL PROGRAM CO-CHAIRS Deva P.
