Quite far, really ... 
Just looked at Frank Gruber article on technology conference calendar
for 2008 [1] and it seem that we're pretty far from where the 'stuff'
happens. I'm pretty sure that my laizyweb will tell me that there'll be
more happenings this year than the ones Frank listed, but here's the
