*The Problem*
FreeNX or NXServer doesn't use the pam_console method for
authentication, so you cannot mount any device because hal doesn't
recognizes it.
*The solution*
Just add your users to a group, let say, halusers and then edit
/etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf and add:

<policy group="halusers">
<allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume"/>
<allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.Crypto"/>
</policy>
Restart hal and happy mounting :)
