Estou a iniciar-me em Linux , estou a testar alguns como o Big Linux , Dream e Kurumin , nao me aventuro em outros como Fedora ,Debian e Kubuntu porque tenho alguma dificuldade em inicia-los , pois qualquer ajuda esta em ingles e tenho alguma dificuldade . So, there's my review about it. *Installation* - From LiveCD, booting it to memory (I've got 1024), it started pretty fast, with all working, this included of course the wireless card (ipw2100), which is now included with the firmware, along with a bunch more. I've just saw madwifi on it. This install process from LiveCD is plain simple, without no problems, just like the one on Ubuntu's. Right after the installation, firstboot appears and asks us to configure the usual parts: monitor, users, sound, etc and then reboot it. Installation concluded with the common programs. *Look & Feel* Always smooth, clean and 'pure'. I'm _almost_ pleased. The one thing that bites me is the icon theme. I'm not used to it and I've just liked Bluecurve (bad vice). But I'm getting used to it. The fonts have changed and there's now the Liberation, along with DejaVu and others that I dont like it. I've just installed the Windows Core fonts and Bitstream. Also, the fonts on my system were some kind big, so I changed from size 10 to 9. Perfect now! *Bling and Speed* Fabulous! The bling works out of the box and the speed (with or without it) is impressive! The system is very responsive, more than in FC6. The boot process is a little bit more fast also. *Yum* I couldn't talk about speed without refering the new and improved 'piece-of-resistance', YUM (and Yumex). This is clearly not the yum that I was used to. It's fast, it's great, it's ... super-yum. Congratulations to the hackers that made it happen. *Programs* With the merge of Extras and Core repositories, the software is one click and site away. It's easier to manage and stay updated. I've only instaled Livna repos and got all the software that I ever wanted. Clean and easy, once more. *Fresh New* - - Yum :) (It's _very_ fast) and Yum Presto [1] - that's delta RPMs. - - Pungi, LiveCD Creator and Revisor [2]: all the tool's that you need to make your own Fedora Distro. (Linius people, look and behold). - - Pidgin, Liferea, Ryhthem Box, K3b, Firefox, all got new versions. - - System Preferences got a new arrangement, more user friendly. *Problems* But, it's not all roses. So I've found that radeon and dual monitor (with clone modes) doesn't work yet (damm you ATI) and latest kernels breaks some ACPI and suspend/hibernate laptops [3].
