- - News from Telepac (my ISP)
I'm pretty satisfied with Telepac as ADSL Provider, it's reliable and
now is more cheaper. But, here's the news:
1) dynIP is the new DNS service for dymanic IP customers, as in
http://your_chosen_name.dynip.telepac.pt and it goes right to your
public IP - for those who doesn't use static ip. It's free and you can
configure on your http://clientes.telepac.pt account. 2) Wi-Fi is free
(up to 2GB traffic/month) on PT hotspots until 31 Dez 2007 - wow! I've
just seen this promotion crawling itself since 2005. 3) There's a new
price rebate for all customers circa Jully [1].

- - Mobile broadband to take off after 2008
http://www.techworld.com/mobility/news/index.cfm?newsID=9487&pagtype=all
This is cute; "Mobile broadband connections are expected to reach 40
million worldwide by the end of 2008". Quite a numbers there. "By 2010,
WCDMA HSDPA is expected to represent around 45 percent of total WCDMA 3G
cellular connections, exceeding GSM connections by the end of this
decade." Of course, NTT DoCoMo leads the way, with KTF and Telstra right
behind. Worldwide, Vodafone could be the leader - i'm surprised that
they couldn't arrange the iPhoney worldwide.
