-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 After my notes [1] on Java portuguese community site, Fernando Fernández [2] of Moredata [3], contacted me for some clarifications about it: 1) Moredata wasn't paid for the java.pt site 2) Moredata supports (infrastructure) but doesn't manages the site and told SUN Portugal that it couldn't do it alone 3) The site was build for community management, that in fact, never existed 4) Moredata rejects any responsibility for the state of Java.pt site and community 5) SUN Portugal, with their logo and marketing email on the site, endorses the community
I've replied to Fernando and the whole point here was #1, so here's the public reference that Moredata wasn't paid for the site, but it doesn't addresses the other questions: a) Java.pt site since my post is down, without no explanation b) The forum was loaded with porn posts, without no moderation what so ever c) The sponsors and community managers (Moredata & SUN) never catalyzed the portuguese Java community d) The managers never asked for community help and gave access to it - I'm excluding the news or forum posts e) Moredata & SUN, by taking only the sponsor side of java.pt dictate her death faith So the problem of Java.pt was resolved (?) the hard way, by shutdown it. If you're (sponsors) still thinking on a possible restart, address first the catalyzer (be responsible for what you're doing) and endorse it on your network (i.e: SUN events).
