- - Boston OpenCoffee Club Bijan Sabet and Nabeel Hyatt co-founded in January 07 the Open Coffee Club in Boston after witnessing its success across the globe. Here's the interview for Intruders.tv: http://us.intruders.tv/index.php?action=article&numero=107 So why cant we make LOC successful as BOC ? Here's a couple of reasons: - - We don't have open mind Venture Capitalists - but we have a lot of Venture Catalysts - - We don't have a lot of (new) entrepreneurs - instead we have people that don't walk the walk - - We don't have a open meet culture - read the latest post on Ricardo Saramago blog: http://www.odrakir.com/blog/2007/04/12/lisbon-opencoffee-club/ It says that's interesting to know the 'agenda' (OpenCoffees don't have agendas!) - - Portuguese folks are risk adverse But we too have made mistakes in LOC: - - Didn't have too many meetings since its creation - - Didn't focus in one particular place, time and day - - Didn't catalyze sufficient entrepreneurs So after a couple of talks with Ricardo Saramago and Celso Pinto, we think it's time to change that. But first we should address our own mistakes, before addressing the more global problems in Portugal for this kind of gatherings. Something in between OpenCoffees causalities and BarCamps gatherings. - -- Vitor Domingos Paradigma.pt -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGuzULzLeQsaqPtNIRCt8jAJ9Yo7b8RqRefGe3qPprjeBO20b52ACfa6Lp ARMyA70tw6uh/UHhv/BLVLA= =gsHG -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ tce mailing list [email protected] http://lists.paradigma.pt/mailman/listinfo/tce
