-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Old news (in portuguese): - - http://dn.sapo.pt/2004/10/22/pais/telemovel_substitui_moeda_parquimetr.html Cell phone substitutes coins for parking meeter's. - - http://abre-surdo.blogspot.com/2004/10/ua-implementa-novo-sistema-de.html Cell phone used on university campus for payments (like cafeteria, books, etc).
Both news are related to one CGD service (that was launched when I was there, by the honorable José Sebastião Barata, http://www.prt.sc/members/SebastiaoBarata/), the 'Caixa Móvel'. Which was developed by EF Technologies and allowed CGD costumers to pay some usual services using only SMS messages. This was made in the actual online banking platform, using gateways to the three majors portuguese operators. But, as I was saying, that's old news and right now the service is discontinued at CGD. The new news (in english): - - http://blog.seoptimise.com/2007/09/google-patents-sms-payment-system.html - - http://tinyurl.com/34qr99 Now, Google's wants to patent their SMS payment system (GPay), using the same scenarios that CGD in 2004 introduced in Portugal. Great, but these are old news and Google didn't invented the wheel, but rather jumped on the bandwagon 3 years latter, where all SMS payments services are considered a flop. So, jumping right to my post tittle, the idea is zero nowadays, where the concretion or implementation is everything. Let's wait for Google response to market and their implementation methods using this old and burned out concept, probably now with patent approved. - -- Vitor Domingos Paradigma.pt -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFG3AyfzLeQsaqPtNIRCp9PAJ4yp0kEN5hIL5KwoACZQjGf1cl81QCggIuD LTzibYAoyxcKpXviNXIQpy8= =TAt5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ tce mailing list [email protected] http://lists.paradigma.pt/mailman/listinfo/tce
