Ahhh... good old days, when the highly specialized software was only available for Windows... those were the days ... NOT!
I've come across SPSS twice in my life, first, when I was in ISEL doing my degree and secondly, on some Business Intelligence (BI) project. Back then the only versions available were for Windows (and then Mac), so, since I've needed this software, I didn't have any choice - the same choice that MSFT advocates - and there was no good BI opensource alternative. But that's changed! Finally! SPSS version 16 is released (back in september) for Linux also and supported on RHEL4/Debian3.1.
