Carl [1] had just populated my childhood with beautiful memories and
stories, he's the author of 'uncle' Scrooge McDuck along with others
like; Duckburg, Gyro Gearloose and Magica.

Donald, their nephews and Scrooge were introduced by my father, which is
a comic lover, like me, and in my youth he always bought every month a
couple of comics from the "McDuck" universe. When we was on trip to
Brazil, I knew that he would bring some special versions of Fethry [3]
tales, which I still have. Then, in the later 80's there was DuckTales
[2] that aired on RTP Disney Show, which I followed religiously.

Still now I buy some stories now and then, but some are just new
translations and only a few are really new to the public (me). Also,
it's awkward to see now that the youngsters don't know the McDuck tales,
which they consider too childish for their needs - hey, they've got
internet & porn, how could they be blamed? Now (2005), Don Rosa [4] had
mapped the story and life of Scrooge [5], following Carl's storyboard,
which are quite fabulous.

I hope to introduce the McDuck tales and my collection to my daughter
when she'll be older enough to understand them.
