I just ran a test of Jacl 1.1a1, 1.2.3, and 1.2.4 and they all had nearly identical results (+/- 0.1 seconds). (I'll be happy to test 1.1 if I can get a pre-built version.) My only guess is that a change I made between now and the last time I tested against 1.1 (which was the version I saw the speed hit in). One thing that I was doing was calling ReflectObject.newInstance() followed by preserve() for many objects. Perhaps it's here that things were slower? Tom
