BTW, it struck me that you might be interested in playing with Komodo:
http://www.activestate.com/Products/Komodo/It is a commercial IDE, but one feature you might like is the GUI Builder. It will generate Perl/Tkx code. Tkx is based on the Perl/Tcl module. It isn't meant to be compatible with Perl/Tk, it's just meant to work. It also supports BWidgets and Iwidgets. It may be worth giving a try. Jeff
