my guess that its not the perl version that troubles you with latest
Tcl::Tk, but rather requirement of package 'snit' - you must have 'snit'
starting with some versions

May be it is unfortunate decision to depend on a Tcl package that is not
always installed.
There was a possibility to ship 'snit' with the package - but this could
bring more trouble than it could solve
