Hi Folks:

I went to testify at the truth in housing meeting last night. Many of the Property Rights people were there.

I was brief this time -- about 30 seconds rather than 3 minutes. I made two points:

1. The city should be about police/fire/public works and the county should do social services.

2. The city needs to learn to distinguish between legitimate affordable housing non-profits who actually do some good and poverty pimps -- such as CCHT and Alan Arthur, who feed off the public trough at the expense of the poor, all the while saying they are providing services for the poor.

There is way too much duplication in government services, and this is a luxury we cannot afford. This duplication in service is also bad for customer service -- because this begets turf wars and that sort of competitiveness between departments.
