EXCERPT:
[And, unlike any other kind of mass transit, it would be run by a private
business, licensed just as a private power company is. He would need
government permission to build the tracks, but no tax dollars.]

FOLLOWED A LITTLE LATER BY:
[Anderson is caught in a Catch-22. Cities won't buy unproven technology,
but only a city-sized demonstration can prove it.

But Duluth, Minn., may help out. Rob Stenberg, president of the City
Council, said his city might agree to help build a half-mile
demonstration track with about $5 million in public and private money.]

COMMENT:
Private mass transit does not exist in the Twin Cities because a [NO TAX
DOLLARS] claim is usually followed by a real version of [CITIES WON'T
BUY] and demonstration projects will only cost [$5 MILLION IN PUBLIC AND
PRIVATE MONEY].

A valid business plan should allow the city councils of Minneapolis or St
Paul or any other city to authorize the private construction of a private
business. NO TAX DOLLARS means NO TAX DOLLARS.

If we use tax dollars to build a system, it is a public not a private
system.

An elevated system would be a good match for either a University Avenue
or a Transfer Road corridor from Minneapolis to St Paul through the
University and the Midway. A street level system would make existing
traffic worse.

Thanks.
