Yesterday I got a Not-asked-for-e-mail from a 'Minnesota resident'.
Then I made my second post to the TCmetro list. I've posted dozens of
messages to Tcmetro on "Conserve, Now", and other ways to conserve
energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can deal with this?

I've been shut out of other public Minnesota discussion groups since
February of 2000 for posting claimed "off topic messages" on global
warming. I tried to explain that global warming is a local problem in
that all of us need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. I tried to
explain that I'm at TCmetro listserv to encourage others in the Twin
Cities area to support reductions in greenhouse gas emissions,
including the emissions that we are responsible for as individuals. I
wrote two articles that are at the Minnesotans For Sustainability
website [ http:// www.mnforsustain.org ], showing regional climate
change in the Upper Midwest. After five years of effort, I'm ready to
give on trying to encourage others in Minnesota to deal with global
warming. You'd give up too, wouldn't you?

Pat:

You [can't] blame the reaction you get from people as Minnesota Nice.
But, it might simply be - that folks who might otherwise be interested
in this topic are a little offended that its the only thing that you
want to talk about. And that you don't show any respect for other
topics on the table.

I'd love to talk about global warming and have made many efforts to
talk to you about this. However, you insist that we only talk about
global warming, that we do it on YOUR terms (and no one elses), and
that if we try to talk about anything else - that somehow "we don't
care."

This is offensive.

Now, this may not be how you see it
- and it may not be your intent.

HOWEVER, it is how I perceive it and I'm sure
others do as well.

So, if you want to blame it on "Minnesota Nice"
or anything else, go ahead. But, I just thought
I would share my feedback.

Best wishes,

[Minnesota resident]

Re: People with "Minnesota Nice" don't talk about global warming!

Where are the discussions about regional climate/hydrologic change by
our professional meteorologists and climate/hydrology scientists in
the Twin Cities metro area?

Why are Twin Cities area residents not asking questions about what the
consequences of climate change will be for the TC metro area?

Why are they not trying to do anything to reduce their own greenhouse
gas emissions? I began drastically reducing my emissions five years
ago. How much have you cut back?

Global warming is more than an environmental issue.

Why is there nothing about regional climate change in this piece aired
today on Minnesota Public Radio?
