Here is a tongue in cheek idea for transportation funding.
How about we target those people that work in MN but live in WI (they can't
vote against this!). We do tolls for the bridges over the MN-WI border.
The people that this would impact the most is people that live in one state
and work in the other. I would bet this would impact WI resident/MN
employees far more than MN residents/WI employees.
Of course his could seem unfair. I am sure there are many MN residents that
drive further on our roads for work. But my perception has been (and I
could be wrong) that some people live in WI for cheaper state income taxes.
This would help capture more of those dollars.
