Hi everyone,

I've been watching the introductions and other discussion with interest.

My perspective is a bit different, as I'm a consultant and trainer. When
new technology comes along, having to figure it out is a given -- what's
more challenging is figuring out *which* tools and technologies are
going to be important. (Right now, I'm interested in XSL-FO,
InDesign/XML integration, custom vs. standard-based XML, and forms-based
authoring for part-time content contributors).

A few people asked about DITA. I recently posted a white paper about
DITA, which might be useful to you. It's free, but we do ask you to
register to get it (http://www.scriptorium.com/papers.html).

As a small business owner, professional growth is really not an issue.
I've been running Scriptorium for 10 years now, and every year I've had
to stretch and learn. With my short attention span, and need for new and
different things, it's the perfect job!

Regards,

Sarah O'Keefe
