I would say that it isn't task-based at all. The AF info Dana mentioned is simply a feature. Even in feature-based documentation would it kill them to add enough information that one could figure out why/when one would use that feature? Give people context, as well as procedures and reference material.
Better yet, design the camera so that the interface has all the information you need. (My Kodak Easyshare is brilliant!)
