My daughter, who turns 10 this month, is waiting for me to help her finish a story that she wrote about a white girl in the 1800s who is kidnapped and raised by Indians (they weren't called "Native Americans" back then). She typed her story in Word and hand-drew a bunch of illustrations to go with it. She asked me to edit the story and to help her insert the illustrations electronically. I think it will be fun to send the story to a publisher when it's done to see what kind of response she gets. This is the same kid who's saving her money for a trip to Peru because she wants to visit rain forests where wild Macaws still live. When I was her age, I didn't know that Peru existed. Her dad is a teacher and I'm a writer, so she's decided that she wants to teach people about Macaws by writing text books. Pretty good goals for someone who hasn't yet reached double-digits in age! Can you see me preening? :-) Donna - CONFIDENTIAL- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential, and may also be legally privileged.
