The Fall season of tech comm conferences is well underway - I just got back
from PCOC in Chattanooga and will be heading to Boston in just a few weeks for
DocTrain East.

The Fall is also the time to start thinking about the Spring confernece season
- and there are (at least) two Calls open right now!?

--STC Annual Summit will be in Atlanta in May.? This is the largest tech comm
event in North America, and the Call for Proposals just got extended to October
27th. Check it out at http://conference.stc.org/.

--IEEE/PCS? IPCC (that's International Professional Communication Conference)
will be in July in HAWAII!? This is a smaller event than the STC Summit, and
tends to be both more international and more academically-oriented than the STC
event.? One kind of cool thing here is that if you submit a paper proposal
before October 30th, and that proposal isn't accepted, the program team will
give you feedback and suggestions for improvement in time for you to edit and
resubmit by the final January 30th deadline.? More info is at
http://www.ieeepcs.org.

The success of both of these events are dependent on
having good speakers, and the more people who submit good ideas, the
more choices the program committees will have, and the better the
conferences will be.?? Consider sharing your expertise with the rest of us -
submit a proposal!?

The list may be quiet as of late, but this subject too far off topic.

Let's get some tech comm conversations going again. :)

Thanks!
