April 2025
==========

The accounted activities in April stand for 116:50 working hours and 49
commits (44 in libpcap, 3 in tcpdump and 2 in tcpdump-htdocs).

In libpcap both IPv6 support and the “gateway” primitive are now always
enabled. The test tooling now generates more tests programmatically in
order to cover some negative code paths better, the test count
increased by 4958 and supported the following developments:

* The "link proto", "ip proto", "ip6 proto" and "protochain" primitives
didn’t detect the argument being out of valid range, this has been
  fixed.
* The "port", "portrange", "protochain", "ip net" and "ip6 net"
primitives now generate shorter unoptimized code.
* The code generator in a few rare use cases could leak memory, this
  has been fixed.

Other accounted activities include:

* making of various code clean-ups,
* preparing of a few work-in-progress prototypes that yet remain to be
  completed,
* identification and reporting of previously undetected bugs,
* debugging and root cause analysis of previously reported bugs,
* CI infrastructure upgrades (upgrading pkgsrc from 2024Q4 to 2025Q1 on
  three NetBSD worker hosts), and
* various sysadmin chores (VM churn, OS and package updates).
