Hello,
Does anyone have any numbers for the max packets per sec libpcap
can handle on a LINUX PC?
What is the best platform?
What is the best NIC to use?
What is the best PCAP memory config?
I want to support 100BaseT at full duplex (200Mb/s) at 64 byte packet size
and that equates to ~ 400,00 packets per second. I have had problems with
interrupts over 20,000 PPs in the past, has this improved?
Has anyone tried disabling interrupts and going with polling on a dedicated
NIC?? Its important I can run at wirespeed without dropping any packets.
Does FreeBSD still hold a performance advantage over LINUX? Is SOLARIS fast?
Thankyou for your help .. Joe.
