hi, This is a bit out of topic. sorry about that.
The BPF has an Instruction set which has instructions like: BPF_LD,BPF_LDX etc The man pages says that they operate on accumulator .. Are these machine instructions ? or something like a wrapper ? Any tcpdump 'filter' finally will be converted to such a filter , right ? after this conversion who interprets these BPF instructions ? please enlighten.. any pointers will be appreciated. thanks a lot ashley - This is the TCPDUMP workers list.
