Sorry for asking such a question but I m beginner,

How do we determine that there is an error in the packet received.
a. at ETHER frame, or
b. at IP datagram, or
c. at above layers.

Actually i want to monitor the "error rate" "utilization" and "grame rate"
in the local network

Any kind of help would be greatly appretiated

With Regards
Vineet
