yeah, but pthreads isn't really kernel threads, and the
open's for files turn in to non-blocking opens, and the
current bpf assumed you either are willing to willing to
have timeouts or non-blocking...
BUT, you CAN set non-blocking, and do IMMEDIATE mode,
which means when a packet arrives, it gets processed
as soon as possible, which ought to work with what you
want to do...
so the trick is finding the right way to do that... if possible,
staying out of the source code of USI++(??) and pcap is a good
idea, since those mods would get lost as new rev's come out.
