Hi, My name is Peter Addison and I'm a college student in Cornwall, Ontario. I'm in my last year of the Technologist program there and i am required to write a program as final project for the course. In order to gain greater knowledge of networking protocols i decided to write a small sniffing program under Linux with a graphical front-end using the QT libraries. However, I have yet to complete my research for my formal proposal to the college to do such an application. I intend to use the pcap libraries, however there does not seem to much in the way of documentation concerning it. It could be that i'm such a newbie however :) I was wondering if you could direct me to any other documentation concerning pcap or any other documentation that you feel would be of use to me for starting out on this venture? Or any tips on where to start writing this app.... what tcp protocols i should initially work with, etc....
