Good morning everybody.

I installed libpcap-0.5.2 on a HP-UX 11.00 machine, in order to satisfy
dependencies required for the snort package.
I had no problem with the installation phase, since I found libpcap in
the hp-oriented depot format, and the thing went straightforward.
As I am going to learn how-to-configure-and-use snort, I had some tries
using various command line switches.

>From a certain moment, it started to answer

./snort -dvi lan1              <------ just for a test, say

        --== Initializing Snort ==--

Initializing Network Interface lan1
ERROR: OpenPcap() device lan1 open:
        can't find PPA for /dev/lan1

I think that something went wrong in a previous command, so that
OpenPcap did not found the device in the expected state.

How could I clean this problem?

Thank you very much in anticipation.
Greetings,
Mauro
