Hi Aaron:

The test case that I want to try is to:
1. have Tcpreplay do something like replay attack against our SRTP
implementation. Since RTP is on top of UDP and that is what I meant for "UDP
support". I will have a SRTP session established between two boxes, and have
one box with tcpreplay sits between. Tcpreplay will record frames between
those two boxes and then replay the frames after 1 or 2 seconds. Tcpreplay
does not need to maintain any state, all it needs is to replay frames it
caught before.

2. have Tcpreplay (tcpwrite) modify some bits in the recorded pcap file and
have tcpreplay replay the file. This will be a test against authentication.

Does Tcpreplay supports my intended test cases ?

Thanks
Wei

Hi
I want to use tcpreplay to test replay attack on our VoIP software, which is
on top of UDP. Does tcpreplay-3.0.beta9 support UDP?

Thanks,
-Wei

I'm not sure what you mean by "support UDP". Tcpreplay doesn't know
anything about layer 2-7. It merely reads the (ethernet) frame and
writes it out the approprate network interface. If you're expecting
it to maintain state or anything like that, you'll be sorely
disappointed.

tcprewrite on the other hand does understand layers 2-4 and can modify
packets accordingly.
