The -a option was removed in 3.4.0 because the --timer option replaces
it. In most cases, --timer defaults to gettimeofday() which is what
-a did anyways, so you're not gaining anything by downgrading.

Honestly, if you're trying to get high performance, you really need to
read the wiki sections about choosing a timing method and tuning for
high-performance:

http://tcpreplay.synfin.net/trac/wiki/tcpreplay#ChoosingaTimingMethod

Short version: timing by --mbps is bad. Use --topspeed or --pps and
--pps-multi instead.

That said, 3.4.1 is getting really close to release. If you really
have found a serious performance issue with --mbps, I'd like to fix it
now, so please send me more info.

Thanks,
Aaron
