All,
HW: Centos 5.2
I have downloaded the latest Tcpreply stable build 3.4.1 and plan to use
for replaying TCP messages simulating http client-Server interaction. I
did capture a valid Client -server transaction using wireshark and used
tcpwrite to update the source/destination Mac Address, Ip Address so it
can be run through a linux machine. While executing the tcpreplay on
the client pcap file, I noticed on the capture through wireshark the
Client PC sends a RST just after it receives the SYNC/ACK from the
server. Does anybody know why the client PC sent a RST , which was not
part of the pcap file and is sent by the PC itself? Though Tcpreply
command completes successfully without any errors and all the Client
frames are sent but since it also sent a RST just before the connection
is established the other transaction are of no use.
I have also made sure by taking another valid 3 way handshake flow
between the client and server and tried running it through TCPREPLAY and
still see the same problem.
Also wanted to take this occasion to ask about how to create a pcap file
with client transactions only using tcpprep from a pcap file which has
both client and server replies?
Thanks in advance for your help
Stanley
