HI

So the  output from a ‘which’ is as follows

 which tcpreplay

/opt/local/bin/tcpreplay

I also have a an instance in

/usr/local/bin which I assume is the latest instance I have installed

So can I just delete the version in /opt/local/bin/ ?

Regards

Nigel

Nigel,

How are you installing, and how the a 3.4.4 version get in? Try running `which
tcpreplay` to find out where the default is installed. Possibly it is installed
in `/usr/local/bin` because that is usually the first path searched for an
installed program.

To install a new program into that location, either use a package manager such
as `brew`, or install manually

1. download from https://github.com/appneta/tcpreplay/releases

2. untar

3. ./configure

4. make

5. make install

Hi

I currently have the following version of TCPREPLAY installed on Mac OSX 10.13.3

tcpreplay version: 3.4.4 (build 2450)

I have tried to install version 4.2.5. but when I perform the version check it
still states the older version . I also did a make test and all looked fine
no issues found . So my question is how do I remove the older version so that
I can install the latest release ?

The reason for the upgrade . When I run a pcap and perform a packet capture
The packets report ether type unknown (using macbookpro with 1g thunderbolt
adapter)
