Hi, A while back I remember reading several postings that pertained to out-of-class activities students could pursue in order to increase their overall success in sociology classes in particular and college in general. I teach at a community college and am trying to put together a list to distribute to students enrolled in my entry-level classes. I searched through past email messages and couldn't locate the thread of messages that pertained to that issue.
What I'm looking for is advice like: watch the nightly news, listen to NPR, read a daily newspaper, etc. If anyone has suggestions of things that they routinely advise their students to do, I would really like it if you could send them along to me. Thanks, Gwen Nyden
