Teresa and Others:

I would recommend Mark Rank's essay, "The Blending of Qualitative and
Quantitative Methods in Understanding Childbearing among Welfare
Recipients," published in "Approaches to Qualitative Research" by Sharlene
Nage Hess-Bieber and Patricia Leavy (Oxford Press, 2004). This article does
a good job of describing the value of multiple data collection methods, and
how information collected from one method can inform the researcher's
understanding of data collected from the others.

Good luck with your class,

Colleagues,

I will be teaching Research Methods in the Fall, and I am looking for an
article that uses multiple methods to address a particular research
question (i.e., an article that includes analysis of survey data as well
as interviews, case studies, etc.). I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Best,
Teresa
