sociologists have beliefs in all kinds of things...empirically supported or 
otherwise; such is the nature of belief, yes?

again, i suspect that our beliefs about many things have an impact on the 
teaching environment. haven't you argued in the past that what passess for 
sociological knowledge today has much more to do with "beliefs" about social 
phenomena rather than actual empirically backed theories?

are you asking the question, what if sociologists talked about God as a primary 
source of knowledge, creation. etc.?
