Subject: ASA Task Force on Public Sociologies Interim Report Available

Hi all, I hope this is of interest to everyone.

http://pubsoc.wisc.edu/
This a a project web site of the American Sociological Association's Task
Force on Institutionalizing Public Sociologies. They have an interim report
about why sociology needs to work with the public and why the association
should make an effort to make sociological research easily available to the
public.

This report " Public Sociology and The Roots of American Sociology:
Re-Establishing Our Connections to The Public" is available at their web
site.

This seems to me to apply to sociology, evaluation, research methods, and
lots of other areas. Academics and people in practice should make a good
effort to educate the public and make what we do easily available and
understandable to the public.
