Last week I wrote seeking suveys on religion and tolerance. By far, the best
source appears to be the American Religion Data Archive (ARDA),
http://www.thearda.com/. This site archives many different religion surveys.

Other folks mentioned the religious items and Stouffer-esque tolerance items in
the GSS, retrievable from http://csa.berkeley.edu:7502/archive.htm .

Finally, the 1991 and 1998 International Social Survey Program modules focused
on religion. I haven't looked to see whether they also measure tolerance in any
way, but interested parties -- like my student -- can find out at
http://www.issp.org/data.htm.

Many thanks to Scott Desmond, Liz Hoisington, Claudia Scholz, Michael DeCesare,
Elizabeth Durden, and [EMAIL PROTECTED] for their help.
