TEACHSOC: senior seminar

I have a colleague who is looking for a text to use in a senior seminar.  Last year he used Liberation Sociology as his emphasis in the class is on helping students to see the applicability of their sociological understandings to their own careers and to opportunities they will have to make a difference in the world.  He requires the students to do an internship as part of the class also, so using only 1 text worked well.

The problem is that this text was too advanced for these seniors, and although it made the arguments he wanted made the students had a difficult time grasping them.  So, if you know of a text that is more accessible but is along the same lines, please let me know.  Thanks!
