Ray and others:

We have had such a bridge course for several years (206- Sociological Inquiry). It is required of all majors after completion of Intro and before moving on to methods, stats and theory, and upper level electives. Students must earn at least a C in the course. Virginia Gill is the main architect of the course and teaches it. Tom Gerschick also teaches it. Their emails follow.

Hello Everyone,
Our department is working on a lower-division (200 level) combined introduction to sociological theory and research methods tentatively called "Sociological Inquiries". The proposed course would be a requirement for all sociology majors and constitute a "bridge" between the Intro. To Soc. course and our required Research Methods and Theory course (both at the 300 level).  Does anyone have experience with such a lower-division course? If you have taught such a course (or a similar course), would you have a syllabus for us to study?

Thanks,
Ray
