Department of Sociology (tenure-track)*

The Department of Sociology at Mount Allison University invites
applications for a tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate
should possess a Ph.D. in Sociology and a strong commitment to
undergraduate teaching and research. Teaching responsibilities will
include Introduction to Sociology and Sociological Research Methods, as
well as some combination of courses in the sociology of work, political
sociology, the sociology of education, and other substantive areas of
interest. We are seeking a colleague who demonstrates an eagerness to
explore and try innovative approaches to teaching; a readiness to
emphasize the conceptual and critical aspects of sociology; a
willingness to explore interdisciplinary co-operation in teaching and
research; and an active and productive research program.


The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer* *or Assistant
Professor, and will begin on 1 July 2006, subject to budgetary
