Hi Everyone:

Does anyone know if ASA is having a pre-conference teaching workshop again

this year?  I can't find any information about it on the web site.

Yes, there is a pre-conference workshop this year on teaching—this time for mid-career faculty members to revitalize commitment to teaching and to expose mid-career folks to some of the work in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.  There are about 10 of us involved in doing the workshop—including several people on this list.  A team of about six of us planned it, but the two point-people are Greg Weiss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and Jeanne Ballantine ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).  Probably the following year we will do another one for junior faculty and graduate students.  (We were asked to do something for people further along in their careers this year and perhaps on alternate years.)  The workshops are sponsored by the Section on Teaching and Learning Sociology.
