Title: TEACHSOC: Recommendations for Stratification/Inequality reader
I was faced with a similar situation in preparing a senior-level stratification and inequality class.  Ultimately, I chose The Structure of Social Stratification in the United States by Leonard Beeghley as the short text and my reader was The Meaning of Difference: American Constructions of Race, Sex and Gender; Social Class, and Sexual Orientation by Karen E. Rosenblum and Toni-Michelle C. Travis.  I also utilized material from books such as Class Matters (Times Books) and videos like Wage Slaves: On Not Making it in America, People Like Us, and Harvest of Shame.  Good luck with your own course preparation.

Subject: TEACHSOC: Recommendations for Stratification/Inequality reader

Anyone care to recommend a good reader and/or some good monographs for a senior-level stratification & inequality class? I'm looking for something to accompany a short text.

Thanks,
James
