I am considering the following texts and would appreciate (private) responses from people who've used any of them. I will be teaching a large class and expect mainly freshmen in it.  I was considering Skolnick and Currie but have decided I need a text rather than a reader, but that'll give you a sense of my perspective.

Neubeck, Neubeck and Glasberg, Social Problems: A Critical Approach (c. 2007)
Parillo, Contemporary Social Problems (c. 2005)

thanks, in advance,
laura kramer
