Hi, I go into the classroom before class and arrange the seats in groups of 4 or 5, facing each other. when they arrive the students sit for a while and then put them back... assuming that the earlier class had left them in the wrong arrangement. I come to class a few minutes late to see how far they have gone. Sometimes I give an expectations survey....how many hours a week do you expect to spend in class preparation...etc.
