Rider University.  The Department of Sociology invites applicants for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning September, 2007.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in policy analysis and/or quantitative research, and substantive interest in race/ethnicity or gender.  Secondary areas will be considered to the extent that they complement the current strengths of the Department. Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching undergraduates and show promise of ongoing scholarship.  The applicant is expected to have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. 

The normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Classes are small, ranging from 10 to 40 students, allowing rewarding working relationships between faculty and students. 

Rider is ideally located between New York City and Philadelphia, in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, just south of Princeton.
