Needless to say, Truemajority.org presents a biased perspective, but a few years ago, I showed my students Ben Cohen's Oreo Budget, which is a great illustration on how our country spends tax dollars.  I don't know if this site is updated each year or if this is outdated information; I haven't used it in awhile:

I saw “The Poverty Trap” on CNN this past weekend where Bill Clinton quoted some statistics on where I tax dollars go (If I remember right it was 30% of the budget went to the military and .1% to international aid).  He also said that if we increased federal aid to .7 percent of the budget we could end world poverty.  Does anyone know where I could verify this information?  Or more generally, where I can get stats what percentage of the budget goes to military (and other expenditures?).  Thanks for any information!!  Tina
